2025 Scholarship Application Deadline is March 1, 2025
The Portsmouth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. awards four scholarships each year. Scholarships are based on Merit, Academics, and Community Involvement.
Below you will find a description as well as the application for each scholarship for:
- Emily B. Wright Academic Need Scholarship: A $2,500 academic need scholarship for a high school student demonstrating academic excellence and financial need.
- Ethel H. Robinson Scholarship: A $1000 award for an area high school senior who is a resident of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and who has been accepted into a community college.
- Frances Audrey Orton Scholarship: A $2,500 scholarship to a college student who is currently pursuing an Education-related degree at a local Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
- Margaret J. Bond Merit Scholarship: A $5,000 merit scholarship for a high school student who has demonstrated exemplary performance in the area of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
