President’s Message

Welcome to the website of the Portsmouth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. We appreciate your visit and interest in our organization.

Since our chartering on December 21, 1943, our chapter has been dedicated to serving our community. Today, we are home to over 250 committed activists who embody our principles of scholarship, sisterhood, and public service in Portsmouth, Virginia. We continue to honor our legacy by Building on Our Success and Innovating Our Future.

As an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community.   We fulfill our commitment to public service in the Portsmouth community by providing programs in the areas of our Five Point Programmatic Thrusts:

  • Economic Development
  • Educational Development
  • International Awareness and Involvement
  • Physical and Mental Health
  • Political Awareness and Involvement

Our members work tirelessly to transform lives through education, community engagement, and activism.
