2024 Scholarship applications are due by Friday, April 26, 2024.

The Portsmouth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. awards four scholarships each year.  Scholarships are based on Merit, Academics, and Community Involvement.

Below you will find a description as well as the application for each scholarship for:

  • Emily B. Wright Academic Need Scholarship:  A $2,000 academic need scholarship for a high school student demonstrating academic excellence and financial need.
  • Ethel H. Robinson Scholarship: A $750 award for an area high school senior who is a resident of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and who has been accepted into a community college.
  • Frances Audrey Orton Scholarship:  A $1,500 award for an area college student who has been accepted into any academic program at Norfolk State University
  • Margaret J. Bond Merit Scholarship: A $2,000 merit scholarship for a high school student who has demonstrated exemplary performance in the area of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
  • 80th Charter Anniversary Merit Scholarship – A ONE time $8,000 merit scholarship for a high school student who has demonstrated exemplary performance in the area of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character.

All scholarship applications must be submitted online by April 26, 2024, at 11:59 pm
